I certainly didn't go looking to rake Navy chiefs over the coals! As for the other, it's complicated. You've often hear the sports analogy, after lots and lots of practice you have an urge to get into a real game to see what you've got and if you measure up to your own expectations.

Anyway, still having fun, including doing chores this morning in a howling snowstorm.PrairieAdventurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06466447251827774900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-771208131691936867.post-81647802828731915922019-10-10T05:38:30.936-06:002019-10-10T05:38:30.936-06:00Oops, Didn't mean to suggest that you went loo...Oops, Didn't mean to suggest that you went looking for the shrapnel. Life can be fun when you are young, indestructible and at the top of your particular heap. Except for the young and indestructible, you appear to be at that place now. Have fun. So named because the gun who worked there was indeed, legally blind, and got the gig on some set-aside for hire the handicapped thing. Spent some time in PNSY myself, right after bot camp, chipping paint in sealed up LSTs in the reserve fleet basin and sleeping thru training films. Returned many years later on a DDG for an overhaul and got family base housing which was actually pretty nice, and convenient. Went back a year or so ago to look around, now that it has been closed and taken over by the local corruptocrats. Surprisingly, the housing was all fenced off and rotting away. Our tax dollars at work.
John BlackshoeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-771208131691936867.post-44070367379180214912019-10-09T06:25:31.847-06:002019-10-09T06:25:31.847-06:00Damn!
