Also I'm intrigued by Tai Chi since reading Nathan Lowell's Solar clipper series.PrairieAdventurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06466447251827774900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-771208131691936867.post-314638955407677262017-04-20T10:20:23.589-06:002017-04-20T10:20:23.589-06:00The praying stuff is important and along with a st...The praying stuff is important and along with a study of reality allows for optimism. I don't doubt that humanity will survive, but I doubt our present civilization will. Not without a major, deadly and painful adjustment. Hubris and egocentrism has already gutted the soul of America.PrairieAdventurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06466447251827774900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-771208131691936867.post-13437127138578615682017-04-19T17:38:58.657-06:002017-04-19T17:38:58.657-06:00There are many more like you than you realize, the...There are many more like you than you realize, they just keep plugging along, trying to keep it between the lines.
Not bad exercise for an ol guy! I had to miss my curcuit training/yoga class the other day and I paid for it the next class. Sore doesn't begin to cover it. I am very lucky that I have hit 70 with no major health problems, not on any meds, and can still walk, and talk. knock on wood.Brighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11299215170393879517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-771208131691936867.post-8889786821553531522017-04-19T13:57:39.908-06:002017-04-19T13:57:39.908-06:00I'm a bit more optimistic about humankind'...I'm a bit more optimistic about humankind's future, probably based on my studies of history.

There have always been idiots and fools in the world, there just seem to be more of them now, thanks to that whole 24 hour news cycle.

I'm pretty sure that some villager out in the steppes of Russia a couple of centuries ago would think that we have it pretty easy. He has to work to survive, there is no government that will take care of him. And there's always a chance that the Mongols will come sweeping in from the east and take everything you own. Then kill you.

Of course, there were a lot of people who were pretty optimistic about the world back in 1913. We all know (or should know) what happened a year later.

Am I pessimistic? Not really. Am I nervous? Yes, quite a bit. Of course, I do have a son-in-law and a few friends out west on an aircraft carrier, plying the waters of WESTPAC, trying to prevent Bad Haircut from destroying stuff. Yeah, there's that.

So I guess you could say that I'm cautiously optimistic. And praying. A lot.OldAFSargehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15935839956936191547noreply@blogger.com
