This'll be quick
Significant ground blizzard around these parts. The surface winds are northwesterly sustained 25 gusting 35, which isn't all that bad but is enough to keep all of last night's 2.5 inches of new snow, and a good bit of old snow, airborne, reducing viz, and drifting like crazy.
No electricity here in town but the power is on out at the ranch. Which is good, that last part.
No internet here in town either.
Fortunately my phone and unlimited data have sufficed so far.
Nasty out there. I'm going power saving mode.
Be well and enjoy the blessings of liberty.

I got cold just watching your videos. Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post.

Mid-20's isn't bad, but the wind chill makes it feel really cold.

Enjoy the peace and quiet!
ReplyDeleteThe howling of a blizzard is a lot more peace and quiet than many people get to experience.

Reminds me of my three years driving Hwy 71, Scottsbluff to Hwy 14. Brrr!
ReplyDeleteIt was plain nasty on 71 today.

Looks and sounds Arctic!
ReplyDeleteStay safe out there.
Feels, tastes, and smells Arctic, too!

We might get some freezing rain, tonight! I am glad you are holed up, and hope you have a fireplace!
ReplyDeleteMultiple layers or warmth backup. We've been pampered during the recent warm decades. I believe that warmth may have begun to moderate.

You made the snow look so good that we decided to have some; a dusting of the white stuff overnight.
ReplyDeletePaul
Trade you 15.75 inches for a dusting. Throw in a snow shovel too. ;-)

DeleteTo quote Charles Emerison Winchester III, " Thank you, no. "

Charles always had a brilliant response. :)
DeleteWe got hit with 22" in Fort Collins last week. Took me two days to dig out, but at least we didn't have the high winds you did.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise I think I'd still be digging out!
Yikes! that makes our 15.75" an underachiever. The winds were awful and caused a lot of problems but at least they didn't bring new snow.

You're very welcome! I came over here from the link Well Seasoned Fool posted. I grew up in Illinois, and fully remember 15"~20" of snow with high winds. More than once we had drifts up to the gutters!
DeleteBut after 35 years in SoCal, this is Heaven, snow and all!
