Fiddly bits

Been out of the loop for a couple of days handling some of life's fiddly bits. Nothing major, just a constant flow of pop-up targets needing to be hit the old fashioned way, with fused bombs on target on time.

After an initial strike got turned back by AAA, a follow-on strike made it through this afternoon and struck a heavily defended bureaucratic health insurance site. Post-strike BDA revealed very heavy damage and all strikers returned to the boat safely. Of course we'll have to get boots on the ground to capture and hang some of the genocidal maniacs bureaucrats, but it's looking like that'll happen in the near future.

Mom's birthday today. Her sister, my Auntie N., sent her the best firetrucking coffee cup of all time.

Temps tumbled to below zero yesterday in the wake of an attempted winter storm and the successful infiltration of CCCA -- communist canadian cold air.

Today it's much warmer (30's) but again quite breezy. My hiking workouts are less comfortable in such conditions but no less enjoyable and beneficial. I'm relishing the challenge and the work.

Sharp-tailed grouse were everywhere! (Grouses? Grease?)

The howling wind sucks but that's part of what makes it so great.

Glaciers have become especially tricky to traverse.

This is one from two days ago which didn't get posted up correctly.

Magnificent is a good word to describe nature's reality in this part of the world today.

Be well and embrace the blessings of liberty.

    1. Thanks Sarge, I'll pass that along. Mom already has plans to use that cup the next time the preacher comes for coffee. Like my Dad always said, "You've gotta give him something to work with!" ;-)

Wish I could bottle that experience and share it in full 4-D. An hour of that and a lot of my "problems" get knocked down to stump size.

  3. Give your Mom belated birthday greetings from my wife and me. It is always appropriate to hang bureaucrats. The devil take the CCCA; let them keep their cold air.

Once again, I shall watch the videos later, after my wife gets up.

    Thanks for the post.

    1. Thanks Paul and I'll certainly do that.

For as much as I bitch about the CCCA, wind, and bureaucrats, I'd be lost without the first two and I'd be short on windmills to tilt against without the latter.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
